Sierra Space’s Orbital Systems and Services (OSS) division focuses on the design, build, and operations of small satellites in support of commercial services and national security space and offers two work locations: Louisville, Colorado and Centennial, Colorado.
As a Software Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to assist in the analysis of our existing software and systems and the definition, design, and development of new software and system requirements. You'll provide creative and agile solutions to keep our business competitive. You'll be responsible for performing coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of our systems and software throughout our application development process and analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Specifically, as a Computer Vision Software Engineer, you will generate synthetic imagery, develop image exploitation algorithms, test and field algorithms to real-time hardware, and work with the navigation team to develop novel concepts for multiple in-space applications.
Must-haves:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred:
Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance is required for this position. Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances
Highly preferred: Experience with computer, machine, or robotic vision systems including sensors and sensor processing
Experience with computer vision
Experience with feature detection and tracking
Experience with synthetic image generation
Experience with GPUs
Domain expertise in Flight Software or Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Flight Software, spacecraft Integration and Test (I&T), spacecraft operations
Tools expertise: C/C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, STK, DOORS, Rhapsody, DXL, JIRA, Excel VBA, OpenCV
Certified through Scrum Alliance for Product Owner or Scrum Master
