TEST TECHNICIAN (STARLINK)
We’re seeking an experienced test technician with a strong affinity toward multidisciplinary testing, design development, and problem-solving. Test technicians work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary engineers while supporting satellite hardware testing throughout the design and build processes to ultimately join our revolutionary fleet of Starlink satellites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Use mechanical hand tools and torque wrenches to set up parts on test fixtures
- Support development tests setup and test lab organization efforts
- Self-monitor work progress against fast-paced area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery of all work
- Program and operate environmental test chambers and/or vibration shakers
- Use basic and advanced electronic test equipment and Test Racks/DAQs to run performance tests on parts
- Assist design engineers with developing and documenting test procedures
- Work with design engineers to troubleshoot failures of parts and test equipment
- Assist with the development of production processes for first time production runs
- Assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or military environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- AS or BS degree in a technical or engineering field
- Prior experience with thermal, thermal vacuum, vibration and/or shock testing
- Experience in the aerospace industry, aviation, military or other high-volume operating environment preferred
- Capable of working with diverse electrical test equipment, including analog, digital, optical, and RF
- Proficiency with Windows OS and/or Linux
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong team-work skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. unassisted
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Level 1: $22.00 - $29.00/hour
Level 2: $27.00 - $34.50/hour
Level 3: $32.00 - $40.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
