We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design strong solutions and implement features within SpotOn Labor Management. We allow restaurant owners to schedule in minutes, control labor costs, and let their team seamlessly manage their shifts with labor tools that connect to our point-of-sale. With new features, upgrading legacy systems, and helping grow SpotOn this role is key to the continued success of SpotOn Teamwork and our restaurants.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the technical vision for an engineering team, aligning with company-wide strategies and goals.
- Contributes to the design and development of robust, scalable, and user-friendly web and mobile applications.
- Create innovative solutions using the latest technologies and tools for front end development.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define product direction and to deliver complex applications.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production environments, working closely with customer support and operations teams to ensure timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
Qualifications:

- Design and implement performant, accessible and easy-to-use components for the React native app and the web front end.
- You have a broad experience with the modern javascript ecosystem: This includes TypeScript or React, Vite, Jest and Esbuild. You will evolve the architecture to ensure that our technology approach meets short-term agility needs and sets us up to scale long-term.
- Proficiency in our core technologies, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies as needed.
- 6+ years of experience in software development, with a track record of contributing to complex, high-quality software projects.
- Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges, with innovative solutions that have been successfully deployed in production environments.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to haves:
- Android / Kotlin experience
- Experience leveraging GitHub Actions for deployments
- Restaurant experience (server, host, cook…it helps to know the folks our software supports!)
Compensation:
- Our base pay range is $145,000 -$190,000 for this role
- Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
- Offers will be reflective of the candidate’s location and experience.
