The company is moving quickly to launch the first aircraft designed specifically for swarming as well as the Command & Control software to mobilize swarms of thousands of heterogenous autonomous assets and empower human operators to achieve superhuman results.
The team has created and exited multiple startups, negotiated defense deals worth billions of dollars and designed and built 30+ novel aircraft, with aerospace experience from Scaled Composites, SpaceX, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic.
Swarm Aero is seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Structures Engineer with extensive experience in composite structures design to join our team. As a senior team member, you will lead the design and testing of cutting-edge flight vehicles, ensuring alignment with industry standards and breakthrough performance.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the design of composite and metallic aircraft components using Siemens NX and Fibersim.
- Conduct advanced feasibility studies to evaluate the practicality of proposed aircraft designs.
- Perform comprehensive structural analyses using hand calculations and FEM models.
- Collaborate with team leads across aero, M&P, and manufacturing to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Ensure all designs meet rigorous safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in aircraft design and technology.
What you’ve done:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Accumulated a minimum of 10 years of experience in composite structures design (aircraft, spacecraft, or similar vehicle design).
- Developed a strong proficiency in CAD tools, particularly Siemens NX or similar.
- Led the design and construction of composite structures.
- Gained expertise with analysis tools such as Femap/Nastran/HyperX.
- Acquired extensive knowledge of the Aviation industry and DoD standards.

- Hands-on experience with designing and building composite bonded structures/aircrafts.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and strong design skills using NX & Fibersim, as well as knowledge of PLM systems like Teamcenter.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities.
