Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our Vay team in Las Vegas (NV) to support the readiness and uptime of our Remotely-Operated Vehicles (ROV) and telestations (TS) fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance and repairs of hardware infrastructure. He or She will be in charge of resolving technical issues efficiently, will contribute towards the operations and up-keeping of our workshop through documentation and processes and coordinating with internal operational and engineering teams, as well as external repair facilities.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance

  • Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on ROV and TS for safe on-the-road usage
  • Sync with Shift Lead to ensure all ROV and TS are in a “ready” state for commercial and engineering operational requirements
  • Perform routine ordinary maintenance and inspections
  • Ensure hardware technical support on Vay fleet and conduct repairs and extraordinary maintenance to effectively and efficiently solve issues
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Conduct service actions to update fleet to new contents or performance improvements
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, implementing effective solutions, in direct collaboration with engineering and integration teams

Workshop Up-Keeping

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and properly stored
  • Support warehouse team with inventory of spare parts and consumables, coordinating with operational buyers to order supplies as needed

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal operations and engineering teams to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks
  • Communicate effectively with team members to understand and address technical issues
  • Keep vehicle status and documents up to date at all times
  • Coordinate external repairs with body shops and workshops, ensuring timely and quality of service

Issue Resolution

  • Respond promptly to breakdowns or malfunctions, minimizing downtime.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and vehicle performance

The profile:

  • Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
  • Minimum of 5+ years of technician experience
  • Ability to adhere to a swing shift on weekends as part of a standard schedule, including, but not limited to working on holidays and overtime as needed
  • Availability to travel within the USA and overseas, if required
  • Clean/excellent driving record
  • Reliable, self-starter, roll-up-the-sleeves work ethos
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverables
  • Team player

Nice to have:

  • Diagnostic troubleshooting experience with OEM systems: high-level experience working with HV systems and hybrid drivetrains, CAN/LIN, HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension.
  • Ability to operate comfortably within and troubleshoot Linux based systems.
  • Diagnostic experience with embedded modules, self-driving systems and sensor stacks
  • Knowledgeable regarding optimization of fleet maintenance and OEM maintenance items.
  • Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair
  • ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification.
  • Happy to travel internationally on occasion
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Honest, responsible, and an outstanding communicator
