The role:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Hardware Full Vehicle Engineer to take ownership of the hardware ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and tele-station package configurations. The successful candidate will lead the release of complete vehicle and tele-station configurations for engineering and commercial use, provide technical leadership to mechanical designers and oversee design reviews and hardware package releases.
The responsibilities:
Hardware Package Ownership
- Take full ownership of the hardware vehicle and tele-station package for each configuration.
- Ensure all configurations meet the required standards and specifications for performance and reliability.
Configuration Release
- Manage the release process of whole vehicle and tele-station configurations for both engineering and commercial use.
- Ensure configurations are documented accurately and are accessible for stakeholders.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership to mechanical designers, guiding them through complex design challenges.
- Conduct and lead design reviews, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance with project requirements.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and designers within the team.
Design Reviews and Hardware Packages
- Execute thorough design reviews to validate and optimize hardware designs.
- Oversee the release of hardware packages, ensuring all components are integrated seamlessly and function as intended.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware designs align with overall project goals and timelines.
The profile:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7, preferred 10 years of experience in hardware design and development, preferably in the automotive or related industry.
- Proven track record of leading complex hardware projects from concept to release.
Skills
- Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems design and integration
- Strong understanding of vehicle technologies; experience with autonomous and tele-driving systems is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome engineering challenges
- Proficiency in CAD and PLM softwares and other relevant engineering tools
- Outstanding, over-the-top drive to deliver and reach goals
- Commitment and intensity to work in a fast-paced, highly challenging innovative environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly
