About the job
Senior Product Manager reporting to the Head of Product. You will manage payment channel integrations worldwide. You’ll work with Engineering, Partnership/Business Development (BD), Operations/Support, Risk/Compliance, Finance/Financial Operations (FinOps)/Treasury, and external schemes/banks/wallets.
Responsibilities
- Expand channels & markets: Ship country-specific payment rails (bank transfers, wallets, QR/RTP) and regional methods (e.g., WeChat Pay); define market-entry prerequisites (contracts, certifications, settlements, ops runbooks) and harmonise merchant experience where practical.
- Maximise conversion & success: Design/iterate checkout & payment flows (smart routing, issuer/wallet-aware retries, idempotency, capture/refund patterns, error taxonomy, webhooks/versioning) with clear funnel instrumentation and experiments.
- API leadership: Author/critique specs; own resource models, pagination, error semantics, versioning & deprecation; drive DX quality (docs, examples, SDK impacts, testability).
- Partner & scheme delivery: Coordinate with technical partners, banks, wallets, and schemes for integrations and certifications; review network specs and translate into capabilities.
- Operational excellence: Shrink partner-contract-to-GA lead time; improve routing availability/latency; align reconciliation/settlement flows with FinOps/Treasury; set SLAs with Ops/Support.
- Cards domain affinity: Contribute to cards initiatives as needed (3DS/SCA, tokens, auth-rate improvement, chargebacks) in collaboration with Risk/Compliance and processors.
- Cross-functional leadership: Drive decisions across Engineering, Partnership/BD, Legal/Compliance, Risk, and external providers; communicate crisply via PRDs, API docs, roadmaps, and change logs.
Desired qualifications
- 8+ years in product with deep payments; shipped multi-country channel integrations and/or local payment methods at scale.
- Strong API product craft (you’ve authored specs and owned versioning/deprecation, idempotency, error models, and backward compatibility).
- Proven conversion optimisation on payment flows (diagnostics by issuer/wallet, experiments, measured uplift).
- Hands-on with processors/schemes; comfortable reviewing network specifications and partner project plans.
- Business acumen: partner commercials, certification timelines, SLAs, and unit-economics trade-offs; strong stakeholder management across technical and commercial teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication; operate effectively as a senior individual contributor.
